Auto Transport in Wisconsin by Cruise ControlWisconsin was first founded not long after the end of the American Revolution and borders on several U.S. states including Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan and Illinois. It also borders two Great Lakes, Lake Michigan and Lake Superior. It was admitted as a state in 1848 and it actually would have included Chicago in its list of major cities, but the way that the Northwest Ordinance was written actually prevented this. It is still considered a relatively major state in terms of its contribution to the U.S. economy, however.

Originally based primarily on dairy, farming and mining, lumber became a major industry in the state not longer after its founding and tourism began to play a major role after the turn of the 20th century. Wisconsin, like many others states, languished during the 1970’s and 80’s as much of the state’s manufacturing started to disappear. It had been industrialized since the late 19th century, but by the end of the 20th its economy was rooted heavily in service-oriented jobs, biotechnology, engineering firms, banking, and insurance, as well as medicine and education.

There are several major interstates that run through the state, making it easier for auto transporters to run routes through the area, but on the whole it is not a very popular auto transport destination. The reason why is, primarily, it’s northern isolation – carriers don’t particularly like driving that far out of the way, especially considering Chicago is the nearest city with over a million residents. Milwaukee is perhaps the most popular auto transport location in the state of Wisconsin, but that’s not saying much.

If you’re looking to transport a car to or from the state, you should try and shoot for summertime auto transport services. Transporting a car in the summer will save you a lot of time and hassle, but if you have to ship in the winter months there are carriers that will do it – for an additional price, of course. Auto transport services during the winter months, especially to areas that are hit hard by winter weather. Carriers don’t like traveling through areas that are known for their snowfall, as it can wreak havoc on their trucks and cargo, so if you’re looking for the cheapest auto transport quotes you can find to or from Wisconsin, try and book during the spring or summer months if at all possible.
