Car Shipping Arkansas by Cruise Control Auto Transport

Arkansas is the 29th largest state in the U.S. in terms of total area, though with a population of just under 3 million residents it ranks 32nd in the U.S. for total population and 34th in terms of population density. Admitted to the Union in 1836, the state seceded from the U.S. as part of the Confederate States of America in 1861, and even after the Civil War the state remained an agricultural powerhouse in the region. Though World War II led to the diversification of the state’s economy agriculture still plays a major part in the state’s revenue stream.

Arkansas benefits from having one of the busiest interstate corridors for long-haul trucks in I-40, which services Little Rock, the state capital and largest city. I-55 runs through the northeastern section of the state, while northwestern Arkansas is serviced by I-49’s auxiliary highway I-540. I-40, however, is the most popularly-traveled route in the state, and since it is such a major corridor for east-west transportation prices for customers whose vehicles will be traveling along that route are typically cheaper than other areas of the country.

Arkansas typically sees highs around the low-to-mid 90’s throughout the state during the summer months, while during the winter months daily highs rarely drop below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. This makes it much easier for carriers traveling through the state, as snow is relatively uncommon throughout much of the state. Higher elevations may see some light snowfall during the winter months, but rarely do they see a lot – not nearly enough to cause any major problems for auto transport carriers. Stability in pricing to and from Arkansas is very helpful for many customers looking to transport to or from the area.

Agriculture and trading were the two main industrial sectors when the state was admitted to the Union, and while it remained that way for a long time after the end of World War II the state’s economy began to diversify in order to keep pace with the rapidly changing culture and economic landscape of the United States. Retail, agriculture and forestry actually account for much of the state’s revenue, though it does have a large industrial sector as well as strong ties to banking and finance, healthcare and mining, with major outputs such as oil, natural gas, bromine and vanadium major contributors as well.
